Dyke Media Watch: Crazy Bitches

Sure, you can take one budget horror movie, slice it into episodes then give it an equally budget second season, but just because you can doesn’t mean you should.

Crazy Bitches was a 2014 horror film that was cut up into 10 episodes to make a serial then an 8 episode second season was created for it. There’s not much to recommend it and it’s completely formulaic – gal-pals and the token gay friend take a weekend getaway at an isolated location. The only twist for me is that it has a clearly more southwest US location so there are fewer trees than typical for that genre.

I struggle to understand they the original film even exists and the series treatment is even more bizarre. Each episode has an inset music video playing over the closing credits that doesn’t really have anything to do with the show. Further, I can’t see why it needed another season.

I will say that seeing Buck Angel get cold-cocked in the final episode of season 2 was worth the price of admission!
