450 miles today. About 350 of those in 90-100F heat. It broke close to my destination due to rain, which I missed - came in behind the front. I was rewarded with this view from my campsite.

Hybrid travel – motorcycle to/from the airport
Twice this year I've had air travel where rides weren't easily available on the home end so I took the bike. I'm getting dinner in Normal, Illinois, at a delightful restaurant that I remember from when I was here business three years ago, and … Continue reading One good detour deserves another.
Day one
Not a lot to say about the first day on the road. My plan was to get to Dayton, Ohio, but I had to divert westward to get behind a squall line that included some potentially severe thunderstorms. Stop poured for the night in Ashland, Kentucky.
Beginning tomorrow.
Memorial Day 2015 Mountain Ride
A couple who used to live in the Research Triangle had moved to Atlanta and with the riding club in their new area were heading up to Bryson City for the holiday weekend. I rode my 2002 Kawasaki ZR-7s out and had some fun with them. Mostly I remember the R1200RT and FJR1300 riders trying … Continue reading Memorial Day 2015 Mountain Ride
